Whatever Gets You THROUGH the Day
Today was my last physical therapy appointment for the knee injury. It’s not back to normal, but I think I’ve reached the outer limits of what PT can do. Basically what I’ve been doing there is just stuff I should be doing at the gym anyway – lunges, wall sits, etc. And it is nice to feel like I have a quad muscle again, as opposed to just a limp and floppy wet noodle.
Work is work. I miss the fun and excitement of my old job, but like the freedom and flexibility of not having a boss or coworkers in the area. I come and go as I please, and the longer I work like this, the harder it’s going to be for me to return to real work life . . . "You mean you want to me to be there at 8 AM?!"
Today Starbucks sold the last scone right out from under me . . . I had ordered it, but then the drive-through worker came up and took it for HIS customer. So I had to settle for an apple bran muffin. Blech.
Also: I do not like that “thru” is becoming an acceptable usage in written communication. I realize that language is always changing, and someday we’ll prolly all rite in txt spk, but I’d like to keep that day as far off as possible.
Fight back: use THROUGH!
