Ch-Ch-Changes

I have changed my routine and totally changed my life. I used to get home from work, eat some cereal, and lay in bed for a good part of the evening, watching TV and falling asleep. Finally, around 9 PM, I would drag my lazy self to the gym. Then I would be so hyped up on exercise and my nap that I wouldn't be able to fall asleep until like 1:00 AM. Get up at 6:45 AM and repeat the whole day, fuzzy-headed with lack of sleep, until I would get home and crash into my bed again for a nap--a vicious, vicious cycle.

BUT . . . last week I started making a point to go to the gym directly after work. No lying around--just change into my gym clothes and out the door. And guess what? I get home by 7:30. This is a revelation! I have some time to clean, to start laundry, to take the trash out, to clean the bathroom sink. It's awesome. And I have the whole evening to be home without dreading the gym!

Like I said, revelation! All this is going to change in the next few weeks when I start a job on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Just a small job, for some extra cash. I'll be typing and proofreading for a few hours each of those evenings, and making money. I really don't have any right now, and I have long-term financial goals. This will be very helpful. And I'll still have Thursday-Monday as free time. But I need to figure out how the gym is going to fit into this new schedule. And before the job is finalized, I have to pass my drug test.

About Me

  • I'm thirty & living in Amish Country, PA. I'm a marketing writer for a non-profit.
  • I'm Mennonite, but not in a head-covered, dress-wearing kind of way. More in a hippy-liberal, peace-loving kind of way.
  • I like books, discussing, thinking, my church, friends, and my family.
  • I'm good at gift-giving, shopping, and writing.
  • I'm bad at meeting new people, cleaning my car, and keeping my house warm.
  • I'm annoyed by people who wear shorts in the winter, create excessive drama, don't recycle, or talk about how fat they are.
