PA Weekend
People should walk places in this city more often.
Yesterday I stumbled across a random parade, which I'm sure was announced somewhere, but I missed the announcing. So I saw a whole group of bagpipers, and a bunch of other people--scout troops, emergency personnel, and radio DJs marching and driving down the street. Also, one of the spectators looked just like a witch. I wish I had a picture.
And tonight I was on a walk and passed a whole group of very loud, very drunk college students who invited me to join them in some kind of drinking game. I couldn't tell if it was beer pong or something else, but I almost walked up on the porch and played. And then I smiled and said "no."
"Don't exercise, DRINK!" One of the girls called after me. In a friendly way.
I would've missed all of this if I'd been driving.
And last night was my first Phillies game ever. They lost due to some poor pitching, but the game was more exciting thanks to all the hits and homeruns . . . . and a "wave" that went completely around the stadium seven times. Plus, I got a cheesesteak and a helmet ice cream, so the experience is complete. More pics here.
