Letting things go

There are things I don't do very much, because I don't care . . . and because it's just me.

Clean, for one. My house is perpetually messy, because I have no one to clean it for. I really think that if I lived with someone, I'd be cleaner. But I'm trying to work on that, because I don't LIKE having a dirty house, and I deserve cleanliness. Plus a clean living space makes me relax (and God knows I need that).

But there are some things I know that I'm not going to work on. I've decided not to bother; I've given up. Grocery shopping now consists of two boxes of cereal and a lot of milk. I eat a bigger lunch, that I pay for, so I eat cereal for dinner. Cheap, easy, and delish. I'm out right now, but I'm going out to dinner probably every weeknight this week . . . and so, who cares?

Apparently, I've also given up on shaving my legs, because it's 11:23 and I haven't bothered yet. I've been planning to do this since last Thursday or Friday. Hasn't happened. Probably tomorrow.

About Me

  • I'm thirty & living in Amish Country, PA. I'm a marketing writer for a non-profit.
  • I'm Mennonite, but not in a head-covered, dress-wearing kind of way. More in a hippy-liberal, peace-loving kind of way.
  • I like books, discussing, thinking, my church, friends, and my family.
  • I'm good at gift-giving, shopping, and writing.
  • I'm bad at meeting new people, cleaning my car, and keeping my house warm.
  • I'm annoyed by people who wear shorts in the winter, create excessive drama, don't recycle, or talk about how fat they are.
