What I love about Sundays

When it comes to days of the week, Sunday ranks up there as one of my favorites. It has a rhythm that I like, and no other days of the week feel the same way.

I get up early . . . not as early as a work day, but earlier than a Saturday. I shower and get dressed and go to church, where I see people I like, and talk to them, and sing, and think about things that interest me. And then there's lunch, usually with friends or family. After that, a nice break for blogging or sleeping or reading. I don't feel like I need to clean or shop or do anything productive on Sunday afternoons. And then, when I've had about enough alone time, another place to go, more family to see, games to play, food to eat.

Tonight is a bit different because of the hymn sing. Really, I'm excited about that. Old-timey fun in Lancaster County. It's a good time.

About Me

  • I'm thirty & living in Amish Country, PA. I'm a marketing writer for a non-profit.
  • I'm Mennonite, but not in a head-covered, dress-wearing kind of way. More in a hippy-liberal, peace-loving kind of way.
  • I like books, discussing, thinking, my church, friends, and my family.
  • I'm good at gift-giving, shopping, and writing.
  • I'm bad at meeting new people, cleaning my car, and keeping my house warm.
  • I'm annoyed by people who wear shorts in the winter, create excessive drama, don't recycle, or talk about how fat they are.
