Randomness III
Why is the "beef" at Taco Bell cheaper than the chicken?
I'm driving a different car right now, and it's nice for a change. Same kind, different year, belongs to my cousin. A few little things to get used to: I used my car's key yesterday and got it stuck in the lock, and I have to push harder on the brakes, so sometimes I feel myself drifting away. It has a CD player and a sun roof, neither of which I've been able to take advantage of, but it's nice to think I could. My car is having its bumper repaired, courtesy of my parents. Happy early birthday, Me!
My 60 day trial period has been completed at work. Health insurance and a 401k, baby! Excuse me now while I go dig out some crabgrass, check in with my broker, and pay my mortgage. I'm so old.
Speaking of, my brother will be 25 on Saturday. That seems like a real grown-up age. Probably because I know a lot of people who are 25 and they all seem pretty grown up. Or at least close enough in age to me that we can be friends. But Mark has been a real grown up, married with a job and house, for quite some time. He's probably more grown up than I am at this point.
Could it be any hotter? I guess it could. When I'm an old lady I'll probably look back with fondness on the days of 95 degrees, when you could actually walk around outside without sun protection.
An addendum to my Everybody Loves Raymond post. I was thinking about Home Improvement, I show I watched in high school, and why I liked that better. It's the same basic idea, really. But the difference was, I think, that Tim and Jill actually seemed to laugh together occasionally, and work together sometimes. You didn't get the feeling that she hated him.
My dinner tonight: four ears of sweet corn and a little tomato. Because I can.
That's all.
