After hours of downloading stuff, staring at html code, learning the basics of Photoshop on my own, and messing around . . . tada!

I realize that to anyone with experience this is a ridiculously simple design, but I'm so freakin' proud of myself.

Update on the end-of-the-world: on my walk tonight I heard an owl hooting . . . this never happens, as I walk in a suburban area on the edge of the city. But owls are known to be omens of doom . . . so it's just another sign.
