Gimme a Head with Hair

OK, my last few posts have not exactly been light reading.

So, here’s something different.

Last fall, I noticed my hair was falling out. A lot of hair. I’ve gone through shedding periods in the past, but this was ridiculous. Little clumps coming out when I washed my hair. Hairs all over my sweaters, my dining room table, the kitchen floor.

It was a little freaky. I thought it was a vitamin deficiency, but I didn’t notice a difference when I started taking vitamins. It also could’ve been stress.

But, when I ran out of Garnier Long & Strong shampoo, and switched to another brand, the hair shedding stopped. I still lost a few here and there, but the clumps ceased.

So, I googled “Garnier long and strong” to see if others were complaining about this problem. I could find no other instances of this happening to anyone, but I did find a “long hair” forum, where people (particularly women) talked about their hair and how they convinced it to grow. Several recommended Garnier Long & Strong.

I didn’t post on that forum, but I did notice that one of the goals for growing long hair was the bra line. “My hair is to my bra line!” someone proclaimed.

Well, I would like to proclaim right here and now . . . I’ve got bra line! And more! My hair is the longest it’s been in years. I decided awhile ago that I would grow my hair out so I could experience long hair for awhile before I get too old and need to cut it all off. I don’t really want to be a fifty-year-old woman with waist-length hair, getting videotaped and sent to Oprah as a makeover show candidate.

Lately, I've been thinking about trying bangs. Something I haven't had since 1990, when they were a giant poof. I have an hair appointment on April 3. What WILL I do?
