Cold October Rain

It’s been so long since we had a rainy day.

Hot, sunny, dry. October has been a little disgusting, a little nice, a little hot. But last night as I lay in my bed I heard the rain start, and it’s been raining off and on ever since. Cloudy and gray. Peaceful. And cold.

Last year I vowed not to turn my heat on until November 5, 2007. I think I’ll manage just fine, provided that winter doesn’t suddenly descend with a vengeance. Which it very well could do. Mother Nature is bipolar, I think.

About Me

  • I'm thirty & living in Amish Country, PA. I'm a marketing writer for a non-profit.
  • I'm Mennonite, but not in a head-covered, dress-wearing kind of way. More in a hippy-liberal, peace-loving kind of way.
  • I like books, discussing, thinking, my church, friends, and my family.
  • I'm good at gift-giving, shopping, and writing.
  • I'm bad at meeting new people, cleaning my car, and keeping my house warm.
  • I'm annoyed by people who wear shorts in the winter, create excessive drama, don't recycle, or talk about how fat they are.
