I like the way you work it

The last two times I've made it to my weights class at the gym, there's been an old woman there. And by old, I mean like 70. Most of the people in the class are 20-40, with a good portion probably in their 20s. But this woman gently does the weight training and the lunges, the pushups and the situps. All to the rockin' beat of Salt-n-Pepa or Def Leppard. I wonder if she understands the lyrics?

I hope that when I'm 70, if the world is still around, that I can take weight classes with a bunch of twenty-somethings. And lunge along to the 2048 equivalents of Whatta Man and Pour Some Sugar on Me.

About Me

  • I'm thirty & living in Amish Country, PA. I'm a marketing writer for a non-profit.
  • I'm Mennonite, but not in a head-covered, dress-wearing kind of way. More in a hippy-liberal, peace-loving kind of way.
  • I like books, discussing, thinking, my church, friends, and my family.
  • I'm good at gift-giving, shopping, and writing.
  • I'm bad at meeting new people, cleaning my car, and keeping my house warm.
  • I'm annoyed by people who wear shorts in the winter, create excessive drama, don't recycle, or talk about how fat they are.
